Production Diary - Session 53
Today, Jodie and Heena were not in the first hour because they had an English Mock Exam (Good luck, girls!). So I edited more of our behind the scenes footage and uploaded it to our artist's YouTube account. I am now trying to convert the 'Not Like The Movie's typed scene from my phone into a format so that I can convert it over to the real video.
Production Diary - Session 52
Today after our theory lesson first, me and Heena worked on our behind the scenes video when we filmed on 30th November 2011 (Jodie's 18th Birthday!), it is currently exporting ready to put on the artists website and our YouTube channel. Afterwards, we will try and do another behind the scenes video for the next filming session we did.
Unfortunately, Jodie is at home with a migraine so wasn't in today :( Hope you get better Jodie!! xxxx

Production Diary - Session 51
Today we were working on our 'Bloopers' reel and creating our Audience Feedback questionnaire. We are going to print out around 50 copies and hand them out to people in our year and get their feedback on our video.
Production Diary - Session 50
We had a double lesson today. The first hour was spent up-dating our blogs and re-doing our lyric annotation as we haven't uploaded a new version with our changed storyline yet. The second hour was spent editing, our video is nearly finished!
Production Diary - Session 47
We finished the Digipak today :-) Jodie is planning to print it off and stick it together to create a 3D one and then she'll upload the pictures of it. We have also continued editing and are pretty much half way through our music video! With the help of another member of our class we managed to do our reverse shot today which looks really good. We are staying tonight to get some more work done and up to date.
Production Diary - Session 46
We now have 1 minute 30 seconds of our video!!!!! and 4 pages of our Digipak will be completed by the time the hour is up. For the inside page we have decided to use another Alice In Wonderland photo with a message to Imogen's fans instead of the page below. We are now continuing editing our video and creating the last two pages of our digi pack which we have decided to use the background of leaves for the CD and layer it with photographs of Imogen Fall. We are all working hard and are really pleased with our progress.
Production Diary - Session 46
Today is a snow day, Heena and Jodie aren't in due to the bad weather. As I am in, I will edit in my free's and show the girls what I have done next lesson.
Production Diary - Session 45
Today we carried on editing our footage and working on our digi-pack. We've finished the back cover and the actual CD. We now have to work on our inside cover and front cover. We're still undecided which picture to use as there are so many to choose from and we also want to stick to pop conventions.
Imogen Fall's Official Website
Over the weekend, I decided to set up a new account on Wix; a website creator, and start work on Imogen's official website for her fans. I had a basic idea of what we all wanted it to look like as we had tried to make one before but couldn't due to technical issues. We chose a navy background to go with the coat Imogen wears in her first set of promo pictures. We also wanted an old film effect on the pages to make it have that movie connotation.

Production Diary - Session 44
We continued creating the Digi-Pack today and researching. We have finished the back page and have started work on the inside page, we have chosen to feature lots of different photographs of Imogen Fall for her fans. From our research we have noticed that the whole Digi Pack connects, often with the same costume or setting. This is something we need to achieve with ours to ensure we are conveying the pop conventions.
We also got our footage today YAY! Our editing can begin, THANK YOU RON! xxxxxxxxx

Today in our two hour media lesson, we continued work on the Digi Pack. The back page is almost complete and we have started on lots of research to make sure that our Digi Pack follows pop conventions. We have created a record company 'Ace Capri Records' and have created a label to go on the back of the album.
Jodie's Edited Photo's
After our media lesson today, Jodie went home and edited some of our pictures that we've been taking whilst out filming! They are really good and it got me in the mood to edit some myself! These below are Jodie's...

Production Diary - Session 41
Our last filming day! (We hope!)
After we shot the 'Love Actually' scene and we absolutely loved it! We shot it with Josh wearing the mask and although it looked quite creepy it did give the abstract effect we was going for. We also had to film me laughing/smiling that 'Prince Charming' had come to my door with these placards declaring his love for me. This was easily achieved by Josh dancing around with the mask still on and wearing Jodie's furry gloves!
Back at home after, we filmed a reverse shot which was my idea. For the lyric 'If stars don't align', we made a heart shape out of confetti and then blew it to break it up, during post production we plan to edit this and see what we can do with it in terms of reversing it. We also shot Paris's pocket watch which flips open (this links back to the Alice idea (White Rabbit 'I'm late') ) to perhaps use on the line 'If it doesn't stop time'.
Production Diary - Session 40
Today me and the girls met at Jodie's house and I squeezed into Jodie's size 8 Alice in Wonderland costume (which I was very pleased about!), and we drove over to South Weald Park to film.
On Friday, we are going to meet again at Jodie's house with Josh and film the scenes with him wearing the mask. These include 'Love Actually', the 'Notebook' and various other romantic scenes. We've chosen to use a mask as they are used in drama to strip the character of their identity, meaning the person in the shots with me will be a mystery guy. How exciting!
Production Diary - Session 39
Tonight when I got home from school, I decided to re-film the shots with the engagement ring in them. This was because our previous ring, in my opinion, was too big and brash to realistically be an engagement ring. These were relatively easy to do as I have very similar wooden floors to Jodie's at her house.
Production Diary - Session 38
As the computers at school have not been capturing properly, me and the girls have had a lot of time to really think about the progress of our music video so far. We all agreed that we weren't happy with the current progress because we had stuck so closely to the story-line that it looked more like a soap opera than a creative music video. We want every opportunity that we can get to express our individual creativeness and we couldn't do that with what we had filmed.
We are keeping our song and our background work as we are not stemming away too much from our original idea. We still have the same story-line (failing engagement and fantasies about a fairy-tale) but we are branching out from it to include more creative shots. Over the weekend, we annotated a copy of the lyrics with new ideas for shots, much of mine being shot outside and more technical during post-production. We presented these to each other and drafted a new copy of our lyrics and the running of our music video.
Tomorrow, we are going to the park to film my new shots and on Friday, we have an inset day so the girls, Josh and I will film the next lot of scenes. We can then give the tape to our Media teacher who will be going to another school to capture the footage as our computer's still aren't working properly.
This was a decision that feels completely right for us right now and we all believe that being more abstract than soap opera is what is needed to really make our music video a success!

Production Diary - Session 37
Tonight when I got in from school, I set up a make shift studio in my room (a tower of shoe boxes) for the camera so I could film myself singing the whole sing. This was because whenever I film in front of the girls, I get a little shy and being on my own filming allows to me to really put some emotion into it. We will use it throughout our music video for quick shots back from our other scenes where I will be acting rather than singing. I did it from different angles; face on and from the side.
Once the girls had seen what I had done, they were really pleased that I got the emotion bang on!
Here's a few photos of my make shift filming studio! :P
Don't worry, the bottle of Diet Coke is not in the shot!
