Production Diary - Session 13 & 14

Today we had a double media lesson and they were both focusing on the storyboard and finishing the annotation of the lyrics so we can re-draft that and put it onto our blogs. On our last chorus, we had difficulty trying to find a suitable romantic scene from a well known film. We searched through a lot of different scenes including the dance scene in the Notebook, the 'Can't sleep alone' scene from P.S. I Love You, the boombox scene from Say Anything and the 'Your the one that I want' scene from Grease. These were all good scenes, but we had to choose one that would be well recognised by our target audience. In my opinion, most people my age, who is our audience, have seen the movie the Notebook and would recognise this scene. My friends in my group agreed, however, we were concerned whether the scene would be difficult to film as it is orginally filmed at night. I suggested we filmed it just as it was getting dark (around 5pm) so we get the darkness to match the original but not too dark that we can't see the actors and the shot isn't effective.
